| This piece was painted over an incredibly wonderful span of sunny warm days that followed a coating of snow. It felt like winter was drawing to a close, and so I began the painting with the patches of snow. I worked on it over the course of 4 mornings, and sure enough by day two, the foreground snow was gone and the distant patches were retreating. I had to wait out a couple rainy days before the final morning of working on it, and by then some green was sprouting up under my feet. It's exciting to see such change in just one week, and I'm looking forward to painting with some green again! |
