We had some some funky weather which shortened my time with this short-season piece even more. I was able to get some of its brightness into the left side though, and now just have the lower right to go for next year: "Family Tree in Spring" 12 x 16 oil painting - in progress.

When I returned to this short-season piece, a "drawing problem" in our trees caught my eye, so most of the time went into correcting that. I'll look forward to seeing it all again next April: "Springtime Rushhhhh" 8 x 15 oil painting - in progress.

On an evening walk, I caught a glimpse of something worthwhile: "A Glimpse of Peace" 5 x 8 oil painting.

I worked on this devotional painting over two winters in our church. When the bright morning light fills up the windows, it dims the crucifix somewhat, and I found that to be the path to follow for this meditation: "Our Crucifix" 40 x 30 oil painting.

I've been working up an idea about joy, and although it's a little bit intimidating, these clouds struck me as saying something about it ... more sketches to come: "A Sketch of Joy" 9 x 6 oil painting.

Here is a mostly plein air painting inspired by the part of the year where the days of spring sun have finally convinced the trees that it's time to sprout their new leaves and start growing: "Restful Spring" 12 x 16 oil painting.

As winter ends and this spot on my stream is filled with morning sun, it has always sounded to me like the exhileration of this time, and nature's re-awakening: "A Song about Sun" 6.5 x 11 oil painting.
